HISTORY

Our story began in 1981, when members of Toongabbie Baptist Church had a vision to establish a school that offered a quality education without compromising on faith and values. Originally known as Toongabbie Baptist Christian Community School, we started as a primary school with only 35 students and two teachers.

In our over 40-year history, the College has seen tremendous growth. From what started as a small primary school operating out of rooms within Toongabbie Baptist Church, developed into campuses located in Dunmore House, Pendle Hill, where we expanded and introduced secondary classes in 1983. In the mid-1980s, a stake was placed in the ground as the College established its first permanent campus on Metella Road.

In January 2018, the official name of the College was changed to be known as Toongabbie Christian College. In 2021, we celebrated 40 years of God’s faithfulness as we’ve stayed true to our calling, “To be a caring, Christian community that supports families by providing a quality Christ-centred education which develops the whole person for life and eternity.”

What has resonated with the generations of families who have chosen Toongabbie Christian College for their children, is that Christian education is not a subject to be studied. The integration of faith, life and learning is embedded in everything we do and is why our school has flourished for more than 40 years.

Today, Toongabbie Christian College is known to be a warm, welcoming and well-resourced learning community. In our rich and dynamic history as a College, we’ve witnessed generations of students graduate with strong values, equipped to pursue their goals and be grounded in their faith – ultimately making meaningful contributions to their communities.
