At Toongabbie Christian College, our staff are committed educators who are also active Christians. Practicum Applications

The College welcomes enquiries from trainee teachers regarding Practicum placements.  Both teachers and students benefit from Practicum students. Practicum students will receive a high level of support throughout their placement to allow them to experience the benefits of working in a Christian Community. Enquiries should be made to Human Resources (hr@tcc.nsw.edu.au) and must include the following details:

  • Specify whether you are undertaking a Primary or Secondary placement
  • Placement dates
  • Area of Specialisation (Primary: Specify your preferred Stage or Year level/s, Secondary: Specify your Key Learning Area/s and teaching subjects)

Application Process and Requirements

To ensure an efficient and structured placement process, please take note of the following steps and requirements:

  • Lead Time: Expression of Interest must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to your intended placement commencement date
  • Capacity Review: Upon receiving your enquiry, the College will determine if it has capacity for the placement
  • Application Stage: If the College can accommodate your request, you will receive a formal application to complete

Requirements for Successful Applicants

If your initial enquiry progresses, you will be required to:

  • Attend an interview at the College
  • Complete mandated Compliance Training
  • Provide a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Submit all necessary documentation from your tertiary institution

Faith Alignment

Consistent with the College’s Christian ethos, all applicants must demonstrate active and regular church attendance and will be required to provide the name and contact information of their Pastor and the church they attend.
